So how much do these new juniors run for? I always thgouht they were disocnitnued and cost a fortune for a re issue from the cs.

they also re-released the sg classic with p-90s, that jr. does look sick I might add, go for it. I think gibson might be planning alot of stuff for this year with all the re-releases of their discontinued guitars. the GT deluxe is back too, they've also pulled out those new faded finish standards for the end of this month which I've got my eyes on.

Well I went ahead and put a Jr. on backorder. They are supposed to be in stock tomarrow but even if it ships out tomarrow I probably won't get it this week and I go back to school Monday so I probably won't get it until I get home that next weekend. But I'll let you guys know how it works out.

There's nothing wrong with that bridge. It's compensated just like the the angled bridges. Gibson probably thought it looked better cosmetically, so they changed the look.
To the gent who can't make up his mind...I'd give some thought to going with the recording gear, and save my $$ for the time when I could sit down and play a few of these guitars and find one that suited me, or get a good, hands-on description from a knowledgeable dealer. These guitars are not a bunch of clones. Some kid is gonna pull a box off a warehouse shelf and slap a UPS sticker on it. It probably won't even be looked at before it ships. To me, guitars are such a personal thing. I don't think I could ever buy one in such an impersonal way. Oh hell...enough of my ranting :smack:

Juniors are killer guitars, and are not the one-trick ponies that some think they are. Did you know that Gibson had no plans to build them back in '54 until Les Paul put his foot down and insisted that they build a less expensive "student level" LP? I'm glad he did. I've got a '56..beat up with a bad refin, and it's a smokin' gitfiddle...soon to be properly refinned and restored to it's former glory :)

I'd love to play it first and I would have if GC would have had them. I want it now since I have $350 to put towards it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it at least till I'm out of school which is gonna be another 2 or 3 years. I did this when I bought my tele, even spending that kind of money was hard. I'm sure it's gonna be a great guitar and I'm ready to get it.
