Gearjoneser said:Recently, almost all Fenders in the HSS configuration get the LSR nut, while most of the SSS guitars get a plastic nut. The LSR is almost a deal breaker for me, because I hate metal frictionless nuts. It's gotta be plastic or bone, and you can't change the metal ones out. It's just a tone thing with me, because guitars with both ends of the string contacting metal changes the tone for the worse IMO.
On my blue strat, the body is from a Strat Plus, which came with the old style metal nut. I actually bought another Fender, swapped necks, and got rid of the LSR neck on the new body, just so I could have my rare colored body with a neck that has a plastic nut! That's how much it bothered me!
