New LP featuring very rare Seymour Duncan pickups

So, I guess you are aware of the fact I build guitars, right? Imagine my joy when I was able to find a set of SH9's Silverbird pickups. A SET. Matching SET. They were something like 140 bucks, as a set :argh: I didn't believe they were real until I had MJ confirm they indeed were the real deal via photo's. When I got them in my grubby hands I was able to confirm their pedegree. I just couldn't believe my luck.

So, I was already in the process of developing some updates to my company and my brand and this guitar was the first of that new direction.

[in short: each model I offer will get one sample with a black korina body; each in a different flat color with different neck blanks; so the LP will be purple with a purpleheart neck, the strat has a bubinga neck and a blue finish, the V has ziricote and yellow, the X has wenge and trans white, the SG red, of course, and padouk, the superstrat is orange with ovangkol, the carved dual cut (PRS inspired) has a pau ferro neck and a green finish. One more finish and shape to go).

So....well. pics tell a better story than a 1000 words so here you go. Knock yourself out :D

I purposefully redesigned the heel because, why not. It's got a Gotoh floyd rose, the SH9 pickups with 1 push pull pot. Tonally, I'm a super happy camper. These pickups are not overly hot but they have a sweet roar. Think of these as Alnico 2 Pro's but hotter and SLIGHTLY tighter but not nearly as smushy as the Custom Custom. The split really, really well. My only regret is not having routed this guitar for a 5 way blade.

I will post more pics of other guitars later...

Gorgeous guitar!!
I personally would prefer push/pulls over the 5 way.

Re: New LP featuring very rare Seymour Duncan pickups

I used to like push pulls too but since working at Aristides, I started to love the 5 way. In fact, I'd rather install 5ways everywhere.

Re: New LP featuring very rare Seymour Duncan pickups

I am a 5 way lover here, too. Excellent looking guitar, Orpheo. I bet it sounds great, too.

Re: New LP featuring very rare Seymour Duncan pickups

It’s probably because I’m a Gibson guy....I prefer the 3 way toggle switch.

valid, no problem, right? I'm an Aristides-guy... I snort Arium first thing each morning. I wish that wasn't literal haha.

My friend, wait and you shall receive. I am planning a total and complete overhaul of my company and how I will be making guitars and presenting them. In that plan, rest assued, I have planned the idea of videos. Each of my versions will get a demo vid of 5 to 10 minutes long, a real in depth overview (some guitars take a bit more time than others). I will also make vids of this collection of 7 (soon to be 8!) models in this black korina lineup.

Purple LP (purpleheart neck, SH9's)
Yellow V (ziricote, Sheptone PAF's)
White Xplorer (wenge, 59/custom hybrids)
Red SG (padouk neck 2x p90, pearly/Custom Custom hybrid)
Blue strat (bubinga neck, custom set singles)
Orange superstrat (Ovangkol neck, 2 fluence Abasi)
Green PRS-inspired (pau ferro neck, humbucker, 2x minihumbucker)

To be constructed:
Trans black bi(t)ch (bocote neck, 3 gold humbuckers)

Yeah, sorry, I started to work on a Bich-style guitar. Here's a pic of the first body I made for laughs 'n giggles

this one is solid maple with walnut stringers. These timbers were given to me as a gift and I was able to acertain the heritage of these. They were cut in Michigan over 60 years ago. I know that because the logger who sold these pieces of lumber went out of business over 60 years ago and simply traded in locally harvested timbers. located in... Michigan. They smell really, really bad too! Like really old timber, hehe. They're not brittle at all nor are they overly heavy. The billets I got were so oddly shaped, I could not think of anything to do with them because they were too short for a neck and too narrow for a bookmatched top. So, what bodyshape came in multiple pieces from the get-go? Yeah, the Bich.

Re: New LP featuring very rare Seymour Duncan pickups

As a matter of fact, I have. I tried two and both didn't last long. Not really abuse friendly. A schaller is way sturdier. Helas
