I am quite interested in one of those little 15W DSL heads.

And on a somewhat related note, now Marshall wants to go into home audio.

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

pricing is not too shabby either:

15W combo: $599 street
15W head: $499
40W combo: $699
100W head: $899

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

Look on the back panel pic of the DSL100H and it says it right there. I have nothing really against foriegn made stuff, just Marshall lol. Being half british in my heritage (other Norway hehe) I just feel Marshall should be English made. Sentimental more than anything.

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

My JCM800 2204 is one piece of kit I will never ever let go. I bought it about 4 years ago and I still grin like a school girl when I look at it and I almost pinch myself. I got the amp I drooled over (well almost... I kinda wanted the 100 watt until I heard this one lol).

I like the older JCM2000 DSLs a bunch too and I'm sure these new ones will rock hard, but to me seeing Made In Vietnam just doesn't feel right. It'd be like seeing Made in Costa Rica or Made in Brazil on a Gibson. Somethings should just be kept sacred even if it's for heritage or what not.

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

I hear ya, but the transistors/tubes, resistors, and caps don't really care where they are assembled.

As long as the build quality is solid and the sounds are badass, then country of manufacture doesn't really bother me.

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

I totally respect and understand that... I wish I could be the same lol. I kick myself because my guitar gear is the only thing I care about stuff like this to the point where I'm probably missing out on some great stuff!

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

I really like the resonance control instead if a deep switch. The front panel looks better too.
But then there is the MIV thing. When I buy English amplification, I want 100% English amplification. Especially at that price point.
Funny, since I love and use Chinese Celestions....no bones about that.

But the tires on my car are a different story than the engine inside it.

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

You can still get a UK Marshall...just costs more money.

This is their answer to Blackstar and Egnater and Bugera...companies that have been making amps in Asia for years...

Does this mean my British-made DSL 50 with spring reverb is gonna go up in value? :deal:

Re: New Marshall's/DSL line

For anyone complaining of the price and being made in Vietnam, when i got my British made DSL 410 over 10 years ago, it cost $699 back then. 5 years later they fixed an issue that was causing some to overheat, and with that fix they increased the price to $899. So adjusting for inflation, it would be over $1,000 if it was still made in England. Now the DSL401, made in Vietnam, is back to $699

Marshall must be using the same factory in Vietnam that Fender just used on the EVH 50 watt amps and cabinets. I got mine a few weeks ago, and the quality is better than Marshall and as good as Mesa.

However, Fender recently stopped using the Vietnam factory since the amps were taking too long to produce and ship from Vietnam to the U.S. to satisfy production, and just moved production to Mexico. Due to this I bet that factory is now making the Marshalls. Again, I find no fault since the build quality on the made in Vietnam EVH was far better than the Marshalls I had

6V6?

Win.

Hmmmm. Would love to run one of those next to a Mini Recto.
