New Pedalboard Setup

With the influx of 3 new pedals (Carbon Copy, Red Witch Pentavocal Trem & Moonphaser) and an amp (Cornford Harlequin) I decided it was time to scale down my pedalboard back to manageable proportions.

So now it looks like this

Going on Ebay are a Boss Blues Driver BD2, Boss Trem TR2, Boss DD3 Digital Delay, Boss Dimension-C DC2 and an MXR Phase 90.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the new pedals but I like the Moonphaser alot, it does a really wide range of phaser sounds. Definitely a keeper.

Pentavocal Trem not that sure, need to spend more time with it. I never used my Boss trem that much but I will get my head round it eventually.

Carbon Copy - only arrived yesterday so all I can say is the blue LEDs are very cool.

I'm looking out for an Empress Chorus to replace the stereo chorus and then I'll be all sorted. That is until PAS rears its ugly head again :naughty:

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

This is cut down a bit, I think the most pedals I've run is 20 and that was definitely getting out of control!!

I tend to fluctuate between having loads of pedals, almost 2 of every type of effect and having almost none bar reverb and going for that pure guitar & amp sound.

My Matamp head & cab will also be heading out of the door too as the Cornford is just more my cup of tea and I haven't switched the Matamp on for about 5 weeks!

I'll drop you a PM about the DD3.

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

Looks like you have everything covered!! I have looked at some of the Red Witch stuff but have been reluctant to pull the trigger. Like you, I use my trem very sparingly ............ and I'm begining to wonder why I even have a phaser mounted. I love the sound and never use it.

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

I spot a yellow box with 'awesome' written on it, only visible by yours truly :D Greatest compliment that you're keeping it above the BD2 Lu!

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

Very sweet set of pedals there Lu!! I predict some heavenly tones eminating from the Shropshire area very soon...:D You'll have to let me know how the Carbon Copy is. I toyed with getting one before I ended up with my DE-7.
I wondered whether you'd hang on to the Matamp once the Cornford had arrived.

Well spotted Pierre! Just to fill everyone in the SD1 was a gift from Pierre and has been heavy modded with a serious amount of mojo!

To be honest Stevie Bees I never thought I'd replace the Matamp, I thought I'd found "THE AMP" when I bought it. It is a wonderful handmade British amp but the Cornford has something else that I can't put my finger on.

It doesn't matter which guitar I put through the Cornford - a strat, tele, LP, 335, SG or Gretsch its easy to dial in really good tone. I found the Matamp a bit more fickle got a decent tone from my single coils but was never 100% happy trying to dial in hums.

Wow, great set of pedals! You nearly gave me pedal G.A.S for a minute.

This is why I don't have many pedals.... since buying my first Cornford I've prefered to have as few pedals as possible. I just love the sound of these amps, they're just dripping with tone.

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

Nice, I like it. :) The Moon Phaser is an awesome pedal.

Want to PM info on the amp and DC-2?

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

What kind of Matamp is it? The GTL I played was pretty much the only thing that would make me part with my JMP.

Awesome pedalboard too.

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

I wouldn't embarrass myself by letting anyone else listen to me play

Don't really play anything in particular, going through a bit of an AC DC stage at the moment - so no pedals required!!

My Matamp is a Minimat Mk1 with an EL84 output valve as opposed to the usual 6v6. It pumps out 4 watts clean and is very loud. The cab is a 1 x 12 angled front with a Celestion G12H30 Heritage speaker.

A mighty fine looking and sounding amp but its not getting the attention it deserves.

^lol

how's that dynacomp sound? does it color the sound any? i know it's a fairly common pedal but last time i asked nobody answered:28:

and those carbon copies are way rad! i just picked one up about a week ago and am totally loving it:D

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

Nice board but that little Matamp "stack" did me in...I'd love to have something like that to toy around with!

Am I reading correctly...those mini Mats can be had with a 6V6?!

Not to side track the thread but yes, the MXR Dyna Comps colour your sound a bit when on (and a hair when off) but thats the charm of older compressor pedals....

Re: New Pedalboard Setup

Yeah, that little amp is killer. I love head/cab amps so much better than combo amps. You can still get them open back if you want, too!
