New pickguard day ssl 1,1,5

I got my new pickguard from Warmoth today and put my ssl 1,1,5 set in that I've had for a while. The controls are a linear 500k volume with a 220pf treble bleed and a no load linear 250k neck/bridge blender. With the ss frets, 500k volume, and unfinished guitar it's so dynamic. I really appreciate how articulate this set is and like letting thru the full amount of glass. Since I can play humbuckers if I want something rounder. I used to use tones a lot but not anymore. For a dark tone I can switch to all 3 pickups on. I installed the pickups with reverse stagger which I really like since I use 10-52s.

Can't go wrong with that setup; is this the one you had set up 'perfect' a few months ago with a different set of pickups?

Haha yeah. I was really happy with that pickguard but I got to craving the single coils so I thought I'd swap em in for a bit. This is my only Warmoth. I don't like my Squiers anymore =P

I've been meaning to convert my Strat pickguards to sockets, that way I can easily swap at will.

I've actually also been fiddling with this setup for a couple years too and just got it dialed, simple as it is. I like the extra space without the 1st knob.

I never played Strats before a couple years ago; at first the volume knob placement was totally un-workable. Now I appreciate having quick access to it and I guess my picking hand technique adjusted to avoid it. Strats can feel cramped in that area, especially since the trem bar comes out within inches of that same space.

I know what you mean. My first Strat was hard to get used to but now I have a hard time with anything else.

Here's a demo of neck then middle then bridge then bridge with neck blended in. Notice how all the songs are in the correct key even tho I'm tuned to D standard.

I like the finish on your strat!

Strats are just flat out sexy guitars. I'm yet to see a strat body/pickguard/plastics combo that looks bad.. I say this in the context of all the standard Fender colours etc that is..

I hate pearloid pickguards, but not on that guitar. Very cool idea. Great look. Striking.

Love that strat! The Jake E. Lee knob set up is awesome, too.

Thx! I noticed a big difference in the Jake E. Lee knob set up when I wasn't expecting one. It's more comfortable duh, but I'm able to strum the bright sounding section of strings near the bridge for once and get the full range of tones.

I have a HSS Strat with a similar knob setup in the guard. I basically have it wired up as a master volume/tone setup.
I just couldn’t get used to that upper volume knob placement on a Standard Strat.
