These are some new picks I made. I've been pretty happy with the picks I use but a friend gave me a rosewood pick and it was cool but a bit too small. It had a recess for your thumb making it easier to hold on to and a little groove for your index finger but I like a standard size pick. So I got some scraps of rosewood and maple and I made a few. The first two I made are not in this pic. Basically I made the same recesses but I found it hard to hold onto. So I made a few without them. With my acoustic guitars I get a really nice warm tone with them. With electrics I really don't hear much difference but they feel a bit better. These are about 10 thousandths of an inch thick but I beveled the edges like a knife and so far I'm liking them. [emoji2]

Re: New picks!!

Cool! Are they Blue or is this one of those...."what color is this dress"....things? And ya.....the dress looked blue and black, but the Ole Lady said the dress was gold and white. LOL

New picks!!

No my cameras flash did that. I think it's more like a rosewood fingerboard. A nice chocolate kind of color. I made the maple one tonight. I'm getting a bit faster as well..... Still experimenting a bit but I applied some paste wax to bring out the flame. They have a really nice warm round tone with my Martin D18. With my Rosewood guitar even mellower.

Re: New picks!!

You selling any? I just bought a bunch of different metal picks that I'm enjoying. I always like to try something new.

Re: New picks!!

Those are nice Dave. I had some rosewood I liked from Brossard Picks. What they had that I really dug and still use to this day is horn. I found the horn to be a bit brighter a slightly sharper tone. The horn was also a bit more wear resistant. Those are sweet my friend.

Re: New picks!!

Very cool. I'd probably like the acoustic tone of those. I'd worry about wear though. I'm rough on picks.

Re: New picks!!

Securb I use horn as well and it is cool but they wear as well as any pick. As far as the tone I think the maple is a bit more "muffled" then the rosewood but barely noticeable.

Re: New picks!!

Nacho I wouldn't worry about wear. They do get a little dis colored from striking the strings but I've been using them on my acoustic for a few weeks. Now. The odd thing is I really don't play with a pibk when I at acoustic so I am figuring out how to use these [emoji12]
