New Pickup time?

I play guitar in a grind band, I am trying to improve my sound. I was using a Metal Zone but just stopped as I feel like it was murdering my mids, However I did like how the squel helped sustain my pinch harmonics, I also like having allot of bottom end but still alot of attack and pressence. I am now playing through my amp distortion and feel like I want to get a new pickup, I play a Jackson performer with stock pickups. I have another guitar that I put in a bridge SD 'screamin' Demon' I like it but most people i play it for do not? My good friend is suggesting an invader now, what do you think.

Re: New Pickup time?

Might I suggest the Parallel Axis Distortion (PATB-2)? It might be perfect for grindcore.

It's loud ("Aren't they all?" Not like this one. ;)), great for high volume stage work, tight, articulate, punchy and grinding bottom-end, excellent cleans, and it's great for what it's name implies. Welcome to the forum. :)

Do you play alot of solo's and single note stuff???? If so, do not get the Invader becasue, it dosent have the best clarity at all. If you play mostly chords and rhythms and you want a HUGE sound, get the Invader.

I am running a Jackson ps4 > Boss Harmonizer > Boss Tremlo > Boss DD3 > Into a Peavey supreme 160 > Peavey 5150 412 > sometimes a BBE rackmount sonic maximizer.

I was Playing through a metal zone and a Duncan preamp (which I didn't like):laugh2: , the sonic maximizer then a crest poweramp into a hughes and kettner 4x12.

I have mixed and matched alot and I am finaly mostly happy, I love the peavey supreme 160 tone.

As far as what and how we play,
We do alot of fast staccato picking, power chords, pinch harmonics, and slides. We do alot of tempo and style changes so I need soething that will go from cruchy chugga sound to single note bends and taps. There is alot of powerchords but that is not generaly the problem as is the chuggs to pinches

Don't listen what others say. It's YOUR tone. Trust your ears.

uhh, if he posted on here, and went through all the trouble of creating an account and everything just to ask this question, i think he might want our opinion no?

listening to what others say can help a lot, point you in the correct direction, but in the end, the final thing to do before buying of course is hearing them and trying them.

sorry i cant help you with the pickup selection though... hope you find what you want.
