I got a package today from Clint (masta C) so I went about putting in some new pickups in my backup guitar.
Since it was already active I didn't have to do much, unsolder the old wires to the volume pot, add 2 wires to the 3 way switch, remove the harness wiring for the Emg's. The hardest part was since it was so tight in the cavity I have to move the volume hole 1/4" over and over drill it a hair since the shaft was larger on the pot. I also enlarged where the wires went through the body from the pick up routes and ground the excess screw ends off the 3 way switch as it hit the BMP a little.
I previously had an Emg 60/81 set in there followed by a set of blackout Ahb-3's which still weren't what I wanted.
My other guitar has an ahb-1 neck with an ahb-2 metal bridge set. Easily my favorite combo.
I restrung this with 11-52 set as the 12-54 set was to much and tuned it to D standard to try it out. So far it great, I will have to crank up the tube amp tomorrow and further tweak the heights but it sounds good other than my loose jack.
