New Pickups for Epi Dot Deluxe

Re: New Pickups for Epi Dot Deluxe

I had Epi Dot. After tried some Duncans in each position, I settled with APH-1 bridge and SH-2 neck. SH-1 set didn't go well in it, too bright in the bridge and too bassy in the neck. APH-1 in the neck was too smooth. I remember after I put APH-1 bridge in that Epi, I got APTL-1 for my tele.

At least you're spuirming to get back on topic. How you're helping the OP with a poor sense of humor, while trying your darnedest not to be wrong on a tangential subject is still a mystery.

Well excuse me, all I was saying was that Epiphones don't come with 300k volumes and that I don't care for 300k volumes with most of Gibson's offerings. Is that wrong? Esandes was the one who took it off topic by questioning the validity of my experience.

And if you read the second 75% of my offending post, the majority of it was recommending Mean 90s or Phat Cats with twin short A5s.

Now if we could just grow up and drop it, I would like to change my initial recommendation to an A3/A5 in the neck (both short) and an A4/A8 (both standard length) in the bridge. This is what I use in one of my darker Les Pauls. It's a more "specialized" set in that I spent a bunch of time tuning the magnet choice to that particular guitar, but I later pulled them out and they also work in the PRS SE Semi-hollow in which they currently reside.

If you do go into Phat Cat, be warned about the cover being really the only thing holding the whole assembly together.
