“New” pickups for my Les Paul

I've glanced through this thread a couple of times. Having trouble understanding the sensitivity about anything Lew posted.

EDITED OUT

Just checking once again can we now insult other members or is this just a rule Lew can break? Why hasn't this guy been banned yet? I think this is the 5th or 6th time he has made a personal attack on another member.

I was under the impression that the Duncan Jazz used a thinner gauge copper wire than 59's, Antiquitys and real Gibson humbuckers from the 50's and 60's.

Maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe it's the same gauge but a different insulating coating? I don't know. I've owned the Duncan Jazz but it didn't stay in my guitar long and was never been a pickup I used much.

The Jazz is an Alnico II Pro with an A5 mag in it. I can’t remember what kind of wire they are wound with, some kind of poly I think, but I cannot remember for sure. I do not think it is thinner, but I could be wrong. I probably need to try making myself a Jazz. I have 5 APH’s sitting around and several A5 mags. I love the APH, so there should be some qualities to the Jazz I love, even with an A5 in it.

No, it isn't ok for any member to insult another member. Once we know about it, we do something about it. Make sure to report any abuse.

The APH / Jazz and '59 are both 42awg, but use different insulation IIRC.
