New pics of my 2 main axes...

I finally had a little time and good light outside to snap a few pics of my two main axes.

The first one is my 2003 ltd ec-1000 (ambersunburst which was one of the only 3 colors back then [and the only one that didn't come with EMGs]) wich has been my main axe since I bought it (in 2003). The second one is my 2000 Gibson LP Classic in honeyburst, bought last year from a fellow forum member... She's always been hard to photograph, the color always turned out more reddish than it really is but this time the outside light made a much better job than artificial lighting for that. I alternate between the two in rehearsal but the Ltd will remain my live axe for now since I'm less afraid of putting dings and scratches on her...

Hope you like the pics.

Thanks bro, the abalone is not as bad as everyone seems to think (although it's still not as simple a guitar as others), it's actually a nice axe, even with the Les paul, I can't even consider getting rid of this one or even playing it less... and the les paul's a good one.

Both look great, but I don't understand why buy two guitars that are so similar, especially in looks?
I can understand wanting the same guitar, but I'd rather have them in different colours.
THey do both look great though, the Ltd has a really nice finish.

That honeyburst Gibby is to die for! My favorite bursts have always been honey and cherry. Both your guitars look beautiful, but I'm partial to the figuring in the Gibson.

Thanks for sharing, bro.

Well, I bought the ltd long before and I'm a big fan of smoother burst (I really don't like cherry). Then the Gibby came along. I wanted a classic and it was either a wine red or a honeyburst. The one that was available here was a honey and the price was more than right so I went for it... I wasn't gonna hold on a good deal because it looked so similar to the other one. The LTD's lighter and thinner, which is part of the reason why it sounds a bit crisper and brighter. Both sound amazing and fit my playing very well.

KG: there isn't much figuring on the Gibby (I really love plaintops on Les pauls for some reason) but there's a bit of "blistering" and some very light and super-subtle figure that only comes out in high-lighting conditions (such as in this pic)... I really like it too though.

Thanks a lot for the compliments guys, I didn't feel like taking the other guitars out but I will sometimes, these two were the ones I expected the conditions to bring out nicely and they did... :)

I like the LTD better than the LP, lol. Nice axes!
The LP looks more bland compared to the LTD with the more "aggressive" colors, the abalone and the figuring... I love the gibby's looks for its simplicity.

Jolly: coming from a guy with so many gorgeous LPs, I'll regard that as I high compliment!

That's just what I like about it. Looks more natural to me, and doesn't divert one's eyes from the fabulous burst.

Wow - I actually have both of those guitars. The only difference is that my Les Paul Standard is a '99 with 57 classics.

Any time bro. Now all you need is this one to go with them. Actually, I should have bought this the other day.

Re: New pics of my 2 main axes...

Man don't even start me on these... I almost pulled the trigger on one but decided against it 'cause it was too similar to the other two... that's a real dream guitar for me right there with the p90s... I'm still trying to shake the GAS off I got for one of these. I'm looking for a wine-red custom now... :D

Re: New pics of my 2 main axes...

Those are nice...how does that LTD play?
Wonderfully...really. Smooth, low action (but not too low ;)), no buzz, nice neck (very much like the 60's neck on the classic, not too heavy, just great. Or it could be that I'm used to it after all these years too.
