New PRS-Brazilizian Santana shipped today PICS

Well its been several years since I have purchased a new guitar. Ihave mangaged to keep my GAS under control, until last week. I narrowed it to either a brazilizian Santana model or a private stock chambered Santana with a brazilian rosewood neck. I decided to be "practical" and not spend an additional $4000 for a chambered body, private stock top and tiger eye color.
Here is my new baby. Supposed to arrive Thursday

I definitely have some work to do, my brother has finally completed a new amp for me and will be shipping it this week as well (a hand built AC-30 with significant additional overdrive circuits which he is keeping secret). So keep your eyes and ears out for pic of the amp and clips of both.

Scott I hate to tell you but the Brazilian Santana comes with brazilian rosewood fretboard AND a brazilian rosewood neck . I am really looking forward to playing that thing. I am blaming you for my GAS. Ever since I saw your blue baby...

Scott I hate to tell you but the Brazilian Santana comes with brazilian rosewood fretboard AND a brazilian rosewood neck . I am really looking forward to playing that thing. I am blaming you for my GAS. Ever since I saw your blue baby...

I'm guessing you paid an extra thou or two over what I did in order to get that solid braz neck.

I really have to wonder if there is *that*much difference between IRW and BRW. But, I know you are a Santana guy and that's a pretty huge upgrade from a McCarty.

Use it in good health. Also, where did you buy it if you don't mind me asking?

Well you are close as to price, about 2.5 K over yours. Mostly for the brazilian neck, partly for the body decorative stuff, and partly for the fact that they only made 200. I considered going a private stock with the IRW neck and brazilian fretboard but figured with the ban on brazilian rosewood imports the scarcity of it "may" help it hold it's value or even go up. I have seen my Santana 1 going for twice what I paid for it online (don't know if they got it or not), mostly because it is a limited discontinued model I'm sure.

Absolute Sweetness!!!! Considering what you did to aquire that guitar, don't even think about babying it too much. Play that thing like an everday player, and make it a number one. A guitar like that deserves it. I'll never, for the life of me, understand why anyone dislikes PRS guitars. I've owned a number of them, in addition to lots of popular classics, and all of them are as close to perfection as it gets. The McCarty and Santana necks are second to none, in my opinion.

Considering how much I like my 'regular guy' PRS (CU22), I'm intrigued by the brazillian limiteds and the private stocks. I'm thinking I'd probably have my mind blown...
