the ones that have \m/ in the name and have it tattooed right on the ceramic pickup. They say right there that the pickups were designed with the metal community in mind. That, and maples necks, ebony boards and floyd rose tremolos are generally associated with metal guitars

Hmm wonder how much different the M bridge sounds from the HFS? It says it has a .7 higher resistance than the HFS does and both use ceramic mags but does not list what gauge and type what wire and the # of turns used.
So far I also don't see the board radius listed or fet type and size so are they still using the 10 or something flatter on these with standard med jumbos or?
After picking up my 07 Custom 24 with the HFS and VB I have become a HUGE fan of the PRS stuff so this line has my full attention right now!!

Seems strange that they don't list the FB radius. You would hope it would be 14", 16" or compound. That Gray Black looks damn good, but I would love to see one in the Orange Tiger or the Black Gold Burst with a natural back.

Re: New PRS Floyd custom 24

i tried it
very good clean tones!! amazing split tones!!!!

axcess to high frets is amazing
body and neck are very easy to play

it's a hard choice to choose between this and a charvel

you have clean tones like a strat and humbucker

the pickup in the bridge position may have more power (maybe) but that's all

pickups are good but a change is possible too

i would prefer a HSH

Re: New PRS Floyd custom 24

It's about time! Damn that thing looks SWEET! Oh, and about the "marketed to the metal crowd" and "traditional". Why do so many people think that if it has a vibrato on it, "especially a locking one" it is for metal. Strats have had vibratos on them from day one, dos that make them metal guitars, or not traditional? The PRS Custom 24 was far from "traditional" when it came out. Until then had anyone offered a 24 fret, double cut away, carved top? Jeff Beck uses the vibrato on his guitars rather extensively from very subtly to full out "dive bombs", as well as dos John Mclaughlin, and I certainly would not call them "Metal players"! Oh, and have you seen the bridges that Neal Schon has on his guitars?
It's all good! Just ranting.....LOL

Haha, I love Neil Scons guitar, a semi hollow arch top with a floyd rose
