New Randall Hybrid Amps

Some kind of new Hybrid tube/ss poweramp section Randall has come up with. They are going to offer it ina couple heads and also put the technology in the G3 series amps (replacing the g2s, with a modest 5-10% price increase).

Sounded like Valvestate at first to me, but from what the guy at Randall says the tubes are not just for the pre-amp section like on a VS..somehow they are used for the power amp section as well

Should be interesting to hear. Could it be the answer to cranked tube amp tone/dynamics at lower volumes ? (that is not digital/modelling). I'm skeptical of course, but I'm interested to hear/try it.

Personally, I think they should just bring back those RG's from the 1980s...best amps they ever made.

Sounds like an expansion of what the Vox Valvetronix amps do. The tube in those is actually in the power amp section. These look interesting.

I bet one of those artists that tried it out was Mr. Scary himself. He's been working with them on a new amp for a while now.

And what's with this "cranked at bedroom levels"? Isn't that an oxymoron? If it's cranked, it's definitely not at bedroom level. :smack:
