New Roland Cube 40XL and 80XL Amps

Re: New Roland Cube 40XL and 80XL Amps

yeah! I had a promotional code for 13% off (13....? weird amount)
and they were also giving express ground shipping for free.
It was 167 Shipped.

I was going to buy that exact amp yesterday and had it in my cart...Nice score on your part...I need to wait a bit anyway...GC also sent me a $30 off anything over $199 and so it's good till the end of the month...It's a want item but lord knows I don't really need another amp! ;o) The price really has to be right though..

My Polish wit can sometimes be stealth.
Roland seems to have things going in the right direction.
I'm all for sonic progress.:headbang:

Peace,

I don't mean to zombie a thread (especially today lol), but I played a gig with a roland cube 60 over this past weekend and it definitely held it's ground. It was provided with the stage backline. Much, much louder than I expected, and it didn't seem as directional as other tube amps that I've used in that venue. It also has that immediate attack of a solid state amp (which I liked) and the tone wasn't very harsh at all.

For the "not so good stuff", please understand that the stage was dark and I didn't have much time to mess with the settings. It didn't really take my pedals well, and even my DL4 (which doesn't boost while turned on) seemed to push the amp out of it's headroom. Maybe a lot of this could be tweaked to work, but I'd need more time with the amp.

Overall, this little amp really surprised me. I was pondering whether I should bring my amp to this gig (loading and parking in this particular venue is a huge hassle). When I showed up without my amp the promoter told me that there's only this 60-watt roland and no to worry; the amp will be fine. After strumming my first chord, I didn't.
