I finally got myself some colourful ones :bigthumb:

From L-R

An S870FM, S520 BBS & S09 LTD1 all Indo-made all used/like new.

I got them after browsing the used section of a big online store here. I knew they had recently set up a used section (like Guitar Centre) but I'd never bothered to check it out...then my first time browsing I came across these beauty's ...all very reasonably priced and all in great condition.

In the end the draw was too much and I went nuts. The S870 came in a couple days ago....the other two are on their way

I'm especially exited about this baby...cuz it's a beauty & a bit of a rarity too. Can't wait to put it through it's paces..

Comes w/ it's case..

Here's the 870 after I changed the strings /made a few adjustments...looks practically untouched. .needless to say it plays perfectly/like butter :bigthumb:

I kept a couple of these from the days when I was into Ibanez. I have a pair of S540s. Dislike that they don't have 24 frets. Dont really like the small body size...but they have been good guitars otherwise. I cant sell them because I've had them 25+ years.

I am interested in the S 870. One guy has offered his at an attractive price. It seems near mint condition from the photos I got from him. I'd like to know your impressions of it. Is it worth a try?

Very cool instruments. Reminds me of Frank Gambale in the 90s.

The first guitar I got was an Ibanez Destroyer DT250. It was great fr chugga-chugga.

An S-540Ltd was my second & my fave guitar ever..The one I learned to play on. I am head over heels about Sabre's... they're the best guitars on the planet for just about anything..but especially shred. Nothing shreds faster. Ask Gambale..he's no slouch :D

Counting these three new ones I'll have ten of them in my stable now. That's the most I have of any kind of guitar I own. It's also a fifth of all the guitars I own...see where I'm getting at with this :lmao: Yep I am a Sabre fanboi :bigthumb:

Most of these newer Indo Sabre's have 24 fret's I think all three of these new one's I bought do...so do my 7 string Sabre's. I will never ever sell my S540. I'm not the most sentimental dude out there, but that one I'll never part with.

Well, I'm not the most impartial guy out there when it comes to Sabre's (see above post's :lmao:) but I wouldn't say you could ever go wrong with one of these. My Indo Sabre's are every bit as good as my old Japanese 540 ...quality guitars, w quality woods/hardware & finishes. If it's in a good condition & going for a decent price...why not? It's a stunning guitar & mine plays like butter. I'm sure they all do...

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 870 came with what looks like "Axis" stock pup's of some kind, not Quantum's as advertised (I like the new Quantum's. They sound excellent, but have them in 4 other Ibanez's already). These one's have a row of black hex poles and a row of black slugs like the stock Axis 7 pup's in my 7 string Sabre's (probably my fave stock pup's ever)..so I'm guessing they're the 6 string versions of those pup's (they look identical/sound very similar).

After a little googling, some of these have the Quantum's in them and some have Infinity pup's (looks like that's what I have in mine w/ the "INF" logo's removed..). No matter..they sound fine in there and are'nt going anywhere.

The back of the neck seems to finished the way my old S540's was ...a thin glossy lacquer of some kind. That finish is a turbo-booster for shred :D

Haven't seen it on any of the recent Ibby's I've bought..

The whole guitar has a pretty awesome/unique matte/semi-gloss kinds finish to it with really nice 3D depth to the flame on top. Pretty to look at.. And a lot of fun to play.. :bigthumb:

and while you entertain yourself thus-ly.... :bigthumb:

a bit of jammimg w/ the middle & neck pup's (might still need to adjust their height a bit..just some fine tuning)

I just plugged the distortion box into my organ and did some shreds.

You should learn box 1..
