New S-S-S

And another nice shiny silver headstock logo...me likey :bigthumb:

Some slow/lazy blues on the neck pup...too much gain 'cuz I did'nt change my shred settings on the amp, but then Gary Moore used a Slo...so who cares :laugh2:

This is a breathtaking axe to look at, and it feels just awesome to play...

Really don't get how anyone would want to sell an axe like this (not that I'm complaining :laugh2:)

..and more of the same with the middle pup (single coil)

...been playing it a whole lot throughout the day. Can't put this baby down

Pup's are fantastic.. They're pretty much as good as any production Dimarzio I've tried.. (better than a lot of them tbh ).

I think this one's my fave of the new ones....still not sure if it can match my old S540 note for note,, but it def gets close..

But yeah... the 540..it's a hard one to beat..

Still kinda on the fence about these Infinity pups in the S870. They do have a raspy/raunchy sound that I like & they sound great for hard rock/blues.

....not too bad for shred either to be honest...

Bridge pup works for for shred-o-rama...A bit hairy..but decent..

I think I'll just leave things the way they are :bigthumb:

I like it that all my Sabre's sound pretty different from each other

In other news the last of the new Sabre's I bought (S520BBS) has finally shipped so it should be here in a day or two ...though it's actually identical to the black Meranti one I already have....just with a different/more colorful (Blackberry Sunburst) finish

^ need to work on the intonation.. (got one of those Floyd intonation setter's on the way which will make things much less of a PIA) but it plays really nice and fast as well...

And the last of them..

Looks nice & minty. It's like these guys never play their axes (??).

Anyway as usual it Play's brilliantly (shred-o-rama!) and sounds f'n sweet.... no complaints ....another killer Sabre in the house :bigthumb:

More neo noodling w/ the bridge & neck pup's.

Family pic...

Not complete though cuz I only have the 6 stands..Not pictured: my two SA's & my other identical black S7421m 7-string...which brings the total to 9 Sabre's not 10. I miscalculated. ...but eh, maybe if I came across another :lmao:

For some strange reason I've developed some GAS for one of these. Not a fan of fanned frets ...or gold hardware for that matter..not even so much Bling really. But it has been calling out to me for a while ..so..number 10? who knows??.:laugh2:

And giving some neoclassical shred a go w/ my AXL LP copy..

This guitar plays really well with a great low action, non-baseball bat-like neck, carved heel/wide lower horn which definitely improves things as far as upper fret access compared actual LP's I've played (still not perfect as you can hear at the end of my video..). Tapping is a problem cuz of the selector switch position (so no tapping in the clip) ...and that's it.

I love the tone of this guitar. It weighs in at about 11.5 lbs..so it's not lightweight :laugh2: and it plays really nice (as long as you don't need to tap much :p). It's all Mahogany/MIC and probably the most perfectly playing/set-up axe out of the box that I've ever bought. I've still never done a damn thing to it except change strings. And to top it off I love it's understated/non-gaudy looks ..it looks like something you would see an old bluesman playing on the front porch of a cabin somewhere in the swamps of Mississippi.. :lmao:

And back to the S520 BBS for another neoclassical track w/ the Quantum bridge..

Nice speedy neck on this one..

The previous owner had the bridge pickup down way low , pretty much level with the top of the pup ring...I've left it that way for the time being. sounds/plays sweet, though I'll eventually raise it to my usual bridge pup height i guess..

Intonation still needs to be set properly though...all three of the Sabre's I just bought had the same problem which is a bit of a PIA

Fixed the intonation and adjusted pickup height.the way I'm acustomed to. Plays & sounds great :bigthumb:

A more old-school melodic version with the same track....just for some variation...

Another neoclassical track...think the intonation's a bit off again (at least for the F string). Maybe I did'nt tighten those little allen screws for the saddles enough(?)...I'l have to do it again..sucks
