New S-S-S

Adjusted it again...turns Out I hadn't tightened some of the saddles down after adjusting them last time...they were absolutely loose and the sadles just popped right back up all the way....

Anyway..it's fine now...

V2 w/ everything fixed..

Everything stil A-Okay w/ the intonation this morning....gave the same thing another go on the neck pu cuz it's a fun track for the shreddz :bigthumb:

Worked on it some more last night ..gave it a final set-up. Fine-tuned the pup height , action etc. Also a bit of spit & polish :p

It's a sweet looking axe. Colour/finish reminds me of that awesome dark wine red LP that SD member Crusty Philtrum built & shared here a few years ago. Always thought that was the best looking LP I'd ever seen..

Anyway , Sounding great....looking great ....playing great :bigthumb:

Not complete though cuz I only have the 6 stands..Not pictured: my two SA's & my other identical black S7421m 7-string...which brings the total to 9 Sabre's not 10. I miscalculated. ...but eh, maybe if I came across another :lmao:
Do you play Unearth chuggs on your 7-string?

Jammed the same proggy 80's metal ^^ thing with the S09...fantastic tone!

It's a hell of a looker & a player ..really got lucky ::bigthumb:

Too bad about the ZR trems not being available anymore. The Edge II is pretty sweet as well as far as as a standard licensed Floyd type bridge goes, but the ZR's are really excellent & unique in design.

Apparently they only stopped making them cuz Kahler had some sort of old patent out for the Zpse thing. That's why the newer Ibby's with Edge Zero II's don't have the Zpse fitted anymore either which is a shame... it really makes changing tunings/string gauges etc so much more convenient...

This was what the 7 String was for.....

Maybe I've been living under a rock...butI've never even heard of Unearth..:p

On a side note I'm pretty sure the ZR trem's give these guitar's a really pleasing fullness and depth like the old Lo-Pro's did.....I think it's the sheer mass/bulk they have (and the sweet pot-metal construction)

Gotta say ^^ every time I hear that solo, I'm struck by how Alex Skolnick-like it sounds (if I do say so myself :D).

Fun w/ 32 Frets :D

Thought I'd give it a bit of a clean-up/set-up as well. It's a lot easier for me to play higher up now that I've had it for a year or so....& of course upper-fret access is no problem :laugh2:

Neoclassical style jam with my 7 string Sabre which I re-set-up and worked on/fiddled around a bit with last night..

Had'nt really warmed up yet so I kept things mostly mid-paced for this one..

Same neocalssical track w/ the new 870 Sabre. Did'nt care for the stock pup's initially , but I'm digging them now that I've adjusted them better. They have a pleasing slightly nasally tone that is pretty sweet.

Never gets honky..but just enough for a kinda 80's tonal vibe :bigthumb:

This track does'nt lend itself to really shreddy playing. Mid paced sounds best.& gIves the whole thing a more "Epic " vibe... and that's what comes to me when I'm playing it..so I'm going w/ the flow. :D

Bit of fine tuning and polishing done for this one as well...

Fitted a new strap too....man, that made all the difference!

More restrained & tasteful self-indulgence :D

Same jam with my Sterling Axis...cuz it's basswood w/ A2 pup's..vs. all three Mahogany S's w/ ceramics....

Def a bit less bite & a "softer" sound overall. It sounds nice though..

Interestingly the Sabre's sound slightly thicker/deeper w/ more bite ...though the Axis is like twice the size & wieght of them (and w/o a Floyd-style bridge) :lmao:

BC Rich Ironbird Pro for some more variety (Neck through, Mahogany, Ebony fretboard, Short scale w/ 24 frets, Floyd Rose 1000, Single EMG 89R in the bridge)

Funny thing about the Ironbird ..it always sounds more "Metal" than my other guitar's. Wonder why that is? :lmao:

Everything I play gets a kind of Dave Shankle vibe to it.. :p

I guess cuz I'm always trying to look out for the sharp ends so I don't bang them against stuff..I'm a bit uneasy playing this beast, I don't reach out for it as much as I should...but I pulled it out yesterday and showed it some love...minor setup/polishing etc...

Sitting down it's very comfortable to play...standing up it has the infamous BC Rich neck-dive thing going on, though I've leaned to compensate..and with the leather strap I hardly notice it..

I've gigged with it quite a bit all the same ..cuz eh ..look at it! \m/ :headbang:

Plus..it's a fun axe to play and plays like butter..nice chunky rhythm sound and mega-sweet for shred..

It used to have an 81 in the bridge (sounded even more David Shankle-like :laugh2:) but I swapped that out for an 89R and I'm happy w/ the difference..

Just banged out this one w/ my basswood Cort (SD Blackouts Metal bridge)..cuz it's a fun axe to play & sounds great :D

And in case you're wondering (and even if you're not :p) the Blackouts Metal is my fave active pickup ever. Phenomenal for tapping/shred & 80's kinda metal rhythms... it's thick & juicy w/ a fantasic mid-forward/kinda nasally (in a pleasing way) sweet tone..

And for the sake of completeness.....my Cort w/ Fishman's....

^^ so now we have EMG's Vs. Blackouts vs. Fishman's (Blackouts Metal to be precise..I'm actually not that crazy about the usual Blackouts or the EMTY's as bridge pup's)

And now it's high time I moved on to a new backing track :laugh2:

This one was pretty fun though :bigthumb:

Gotta say..while I was initially a bit put off by it's "modern" look (kinda djenty w/ the white pup's/exposed wood bevels and all) the Cort Duality II is a very comfortable guitar to play.

The neck, though pretty chunky by my usual standards plays like butter & feel's fuggin awesome for shred, with exceptional upper fret access...they really got that cutaway right,

...& the fishman's are really sweet sounding pup's too. 3 voicings (single coil/Paf/hot-rodded Paf)..and they all sound pretty sweet :bigthumb:
