***APOLOGIES FOR THE VIDEO QUALITY, MY ZOOM Q3 is acting weird....****

Seymour Duncan Custom shop "Tyrannotitan" bridge humbucker through the Marshall TSL100.

My two GRUBISA custom made Flying V's are now both loaded with Seymour Duncan Custom shop "Tyrannotitan" bridge humbuckers, which is my Sh6 Variant made by MJ at the Seymour Duncan Custom shop. They are SH6's with clearer and growlier MIDS, no dirty mids... that was the only tweek I had MJ do.

Just like previous video of me comparing the Tyrannotitans to a regular SH6, people have been asking me to do a video of the TT's straight into the Marshall TSL100's that I own...

SO HERE IT FINALLY IS... ENJOY!!!

Signal chain: D'Addario 11-52 EXL116 (black V), D'Addario 11-49 EXL115 (natural V) --- SD Custom shop Tyrannotitan Pickups --- Dimarzio 18ft cable --- Marshall JCM2000 TSL100 (loaded with TungSol 12AX7 preamp tubes & Svetlana EL34 power tubes) --- CBI Speaker cable --- Marshall 1960B --- Zoom Q3

MARSHALL yellow channel (Channel 2 Rhythm) settings:
Master Vol - 4
Deep switch - OFF
Presence - 8
Bass - 10
Mids - 8 (yes, NOT scooped)
Treble - 7
Gain - 8
Tone shift - OFF

I'm playing a variety of thrash metal riffs, BUT I also roll back VOL pot to a clean sound (you'll freak out) and I also play different chord shapes and 6 string chords so you'll hear to detail and string seperation too...

Awesome video! I don't know how big a part the TT plays in your tonal recipe as a whole, but being familiar with both the Marshall you are playing through and the SH-6, I can definitely hear what you have described. "Growly" mids is exactly what I am hearing, with lots of tightness and clarity. It also sounds like the high end is a little smoother than on a regular SH-6. Right up my alley for a high output pickup!

Its high end is alot less twangy too. These pickups have totally stopped my curiosity in trying other models or brands. MJ hit the nail on head for me.

I don't think that the Q3 performed strangely... it basically can't get a real decent image in most low light situations.

I thought that your video quality was good enough though... clear and in focus, so I don't see a problem there.

Sounds tight, clear and present.

I don't think that the Q3 performed strangely... it basically can't get a real decent image in most low light situations.

The other big difference that freaks me out is how good the sound is compared to my previous video which was done through amp modelling, the Vox Valvetronix 30W amp. Can the kemper clone the sound of my guitars through the Marshall???

A least the Q3 hears the amp kinda like the human ear, so thats what I wanted everyone to hear...

I think you should start doing them all with the amp modeling, then shoot the video in front of the amps and tell them the real amp is what they are hearing. I'll give you a buffalo nickel if anyone notices the difference.

Thanks for the P.O. # mate! It honestly reminds me of a cross between my old PRS Dragon1 pickup and the mighty SH-6! I might have to give it a shot down the road here; next custom creation for me will be a neck pickup!

In my black V I'm been thinking of pairing the TT with a whole lotta sh18N, and replace the '59 thats currently in there.

I'm currently trying a few SD stock trembuckers for my application (heavily down-tuned), but if those don't work out it's over to the custom shop. How was it working with MJ and all that? MJ is just the best. I sent her an email asking if it was possible to make an sh6 with clearer fast tracking mids that were also growly like the way a sh5 & PATB2 growls. She said she could make me a pickup very close to specs and that it would be great pickup. And mate did SHE deliver!!!!!!

Then I also gave her as detailed as possible my guitar specs and how they sounded.

It's not a new found tone, I've had this pickup since November 2012, its just that it took my band a year to find a suitable drummer, and I had no chance to crank my guitars through my marshalls till now.

I'm now toying with the idea of having MJ make another two TT's, one with triple ceramic mags, and one with an Alnico 8.... :33:
