Not a fan of grunge, but that's a particularly good example of the genre. Sounded more purposed than most grunge I have heard.

I was definitely getting some Nirvana vibes both from the riffing and the vocal delivery. It felt a little like he was imitating that style, but honestly if you're gonna go for a grunge sound sounding like Nirvana is a good thing. The guitar tone definitely sounded more metal oriented though, and at times I found myself thinking it sounded too polite/produced for this type of song, and occasionally that made me think of certain nu-metal bands like Trapt, which probably isn't what you're shooting for. If you continue in this vein, it might be worthwhile to experiment with more lo-fi guitar tones. Cool stuff though -- thanks for sharing!

i think it goes
metal/alternative/industrial/grunge
grunge as the last thing it really stands for other than his vocal style.
i wrote a power metal pop song first and he did the grunge thing second.

Sorry, I guess I got caught up in the vocal style and Kurt Cobain comparison, which definitely altered the way I listened to it. That makes perfect sense. I actually liked it as "grunge" though, perhaps more so than the other labels. (Former Seattle-ite here haha.)

Edit: And as "Power Metal/Pop/alternative" the production is pristine.
