I have a Marshall 1960B 4 x 12 with the stock G12T-75's in them, I recently got a Peavey 6505+ head though and have read the typical metalcore set up is Peavey heads matched up with Mesa Boogie cabs.
Should I swap out the stock ones for V30's (which the Mesa cab would have) or get a brand new Mesa Cab?
Also have read about matching the 75's/V30's X pattern thing, but for live purposes only one speaker will be mic'd up so on stage won't be very level.
Do the V30's have any mid-range? Low end?
The type of music I play is drop tuned chuggy stuff, more of the modern hi-gain metal bands though not the classic metal.
Think ADTR/Chunk No Captain Chunk and Bring Me The Horizon:
