That's an 1988 Charvel 1a with a model 4 or 3 neck. I changed the saddles for graphtech, did the nut myself, PATB3/CR/Fender single coil, master volume, neck volume, split for CR/PATB.

2002 Highway 1 Strat. QP at bridge, SSL1 RW/RP at middle, APS2 at neck. The series is for series/parrallel in position 4/5. Absolutely love this guitar. Whenever I can she'll get a Custom Shop Jazz of some kind I think... she's begging for a bridge 'bucker right now. She's FAR from perfect... ugly maple gain, uneven walnut stripe, 4 pieces body... but she sounds wonderful, loud, bright... a good sounding Strat. I can't get the relief down which worries me some but she plays fine. Graphtech saddles as I HAD to change them, the older ones didn't go high enough for my prefered action.

1988 Charvel model 4. My first guitar, first love. Duncan Jazz, three way toggle for on/off/on straight to output, a split, a volume and a tone. All the other random switches do nothing :D She'll get a single coil at some point in the neck too. LOVE this guitar.

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

NICE! I like that Strat alot, and the Charvels rule. Where's the Kramer?

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

She was in Amsterdam, sold now. The Red one has to go too. Too much opportunity cost in having 3 electrics, I simply can't justify nor afford it...

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Ahh okay, glad to hear you got rid of her then.

But that Strat is nice as heck though :)

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Hell no I'll miss this guitar :laugh2: she was the best one, hence why I had to sell her. Only one I could get money for. The Red one no one seems to be interested in.

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

That's one messed up family - in a good way, though!

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Had no choice man... Fender or not she had to go. I beat myself up over it enough already :(

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Oh well man, you needed the money, and no doubt you can find another guitar like that?

Btw, seen the thread about the Strat I got a month back? Check the pic out.

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

They're RARE in Europe. VERY rare. I'll save up and hopefully buy it off the guy again if possible. I'm flat broke, need a new laptop, a driver's licence...It's just not justified right now. And yep I saw it. It's cool man, I dig those 50/60s strats.

Thanks.

Well, what laptop you need?

I love this:

What do they call this color? Ok, they call it blue. What gizmo-code for variants of blue does Fender attach to this finish?

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

:laugh2: I actually think it was called Teal of some kind..? Not sure. But yeah it's HOT.

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Thanks guys. I love her looks.

I'm thinking now... the Strat would be amazing with a P rails... and the Blue Charvel the best candidate for an alternative 8... hehehehe...

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

Oh no man, you have a 1970s Rainbow setup there! None of that unobtanium Alnico 8 buckers ;) :D

Re: New Strat, at last! + family

:D

Tried the Custom and Distortion in the Blue Charvel, as well as the FullShred, Jazz, Jackson J50 and BK Miracle Man... so far the only one I'm 100% satisfied with is the Jazz. I just want to try something a little different hehe...
