You know I don't talk to to many people that actually blow speakers any more, one or two bass players, and pA guys, but not to many guitar players though. So generally I say that the need to back them up is not there unless you can *afford it*. For guys that like using lower wattage speakers for breakup ... I don't know what to say, I've always liked overated speakers power wise ... there is a benefit that you can have doing it that way. If you have a 4X12 stereo cab, and you have a stereo/mono switch on it, and you run in mono live, then if you lost a speaker in one pair you could always reset your impedance at the amp and run thru the fully functioning stereo side (with switch changed to stereo of course) to finish out the gig. plus your amp is going to really be for your monitoring needs and maybe sending some the drummers way, the house system will take care of the front. Just an idea ...footswitchable ... no, but a mid gig solution nonetheless. Generally, I haven't heard of many people running into cab failure problems though, seems speakers have gotten a lot better or the years (decades).

cool bro, good food for thought. Thanks. I looked up this pedal on Ebay - they are there too. It is a way cool pedal. I am thinking of the possibilities ...(endless tone+effects pedals through one amp path) :burnout:
