New (to me) Les Paul Standard Faded.

Re: New (to me) Les Paul Standard Faded.

Niiiiice. The Standard Fadeds are my favorite Les Pauls. I was so bummed when they discontinued those. I wish i could find a good one with a 60's neck for under $1500.
Not likely, they not only hold their value, they are one of those models that appreciates. I've owned several and while Ill admit it was on the high side (Argentenian buyer), and a great specimen, the last one I sold about 2 years ago I got $2200 for it.

Yeah I know, I've noticed they hold value very well.

I spotted a very pretty one on CL for a very good price - I'm working on a trade deal for an amp of mine vs. a PRS Custom 24 but if that falls through I'll see if this guy wants to trade my amp for his LP Faded.

Re: New (to me) Les Paul Standard Faded.

I may be nowhere near your league here but I love the finish on those, I used to have my heart set on a cherry sunburst Paul but ended up with my epiphone and I'm not sure if it's tobacco, vintage or what type of burst it has but I found out after purchasing it it had a set of 59s in it, I would love to eventually get a Gibson with a similar finish ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414035900.357670.jpg

Re: New (to me) Les Paul Standard Faded.

Last parts went on today, this guitar is finished.

In the end the upgrades are as follows:

WCR Fillmore Pickups with AII magnets instead of Alnico V with Russian PIO caps (a .015 neck and a .022 bridge cap).
Tone Pros aged nickel bridge and stop
Aged nickel pickup covers
Aged volume and tone controls with pointers
Vintage spec pickup surrounds
vintage spec toggle switch tip
Graphtek TUSQ nut

I am calling this one a victory

What, no vintage-spec plastic jack plate? :9:

Looks very nice. Wish I had one. GAS now.

I call this a flawless victory!

Now know what my next guitar will be - time to live up to my name!

Re: New (to me) Les Paul Standard Faded.

I can't decide if this makes me excited to buy a Les Paul or mad that I can't have that specific one

There's a good name for that guitar - Victory.

Or Victoria, if this guitar is female.
