New Tracks: Sherrie Scott and our own Lew Collins

Re: New Tracks: Sherrie Scott and our own Lew Collins

Thanks Erik! Got your email last night and I really appreciate
your comments. I'll pass them along to Sherrie. We do have a five song CD I could send you right now, or if you want to wait a month or so we should have more songs to add to it.

We're in the studio almost every Sunday now and Sherrie and I have written a few more songs in the last couple weeks that I'm really excited about.

We have about 25 tunes now that we've written but we keep writing new ones and not getting around to recording some of the ones we wrote 6 months to a year ago.

Anyways, it was good to hear from you!

I just might take ya up on that offer on the 5-song CD. Looking forward to hearing more. My wife really likes the songs too.

PM sent. Thanks Erik!

We were in the studio all day yesterday and recorded another track. Turned out really good. Sherrie sang her tail off. She is SO good!

I brought three guitars to the session: Martin HD-28 (Sitka & Indian Rosewood), Collings OM (Adirondack & Indian Rosewood) and my Taylor 710Brz (Englemann & Brazilian Rosewood).

Before the session I'd been playing my Martin and feeling like it was the best acoustic guitar of the bunch and really looking forward to recording with it.

But in the studio, the Collings sounded just a little boxy and bright...the Martin sounded very deep and full but just a little twangy...and the Taylor was the one that sounded perfect and the most balanced. It's a great recording guitar.

Lew, very nice playing and singing. I usually listen to blues or southern rock, but on an easy Sunday morning, I would love that stuff! Would love to hear you burn on a blues number, just once though.
