New Tremoverb in the mail today..

Had to run out of the house when it came so i didn't get a chance to plug her in. BUT i did some inspecting. It seems one of the rectifiers tubes is shattered, the other laying in the bottem (couldn't tell if it was broken, not enough time to fish it out).

Needless to say i have some heavy inspecting to do. In the mean time though i have two questions.

1) Assuming the other 5u4g is in tact, how would i go about reducing the wattage down to 50 watts?.. just pull two power tubes and have the one 5u4g in place?

2) Since the amp was possibly insured (by paytojt hopefully) would i be able to get compinsation for the rectifier tube and other damages if any (cheap yes but im american)?

Thanks in advance guys!

1) There's been some controvery regarding the pulled tubes/ohms for half power. You can do it, but since there's not much of a difference, it seems safer to just get a new rectifier tube.

2) It would be possible but most likely the shipping company will need the amp/package/tube for their investigation. If they take care of the damages, it probably won't happen for several weeks or months (going on personal experience here).

So yeah, just get a new rectifier tube :D

Congrats on the tverb though! They're great amps :)

Yeah i figured as much, just wondering if there was an off chance that it would be easy. I'm just glad they left it in the garage out of the rain like i asked

I dont have any experience with the 5u4's.. Do both need to be in for the power section to work properly or even any at all if i switch to the silicon diode.

I player a T-Verb for 10 years or so, you have to remove 1 of the rectifier tubes and either the inside or outside power tubes for half power (50 watts). You also have to plug the speaker into a different ohm out.....I can't remember which one. Call the techs at Boogie and they will be happy to help you. If you like a lot of tonal possibilities, a T-Verb will fit the bill nicely.

Hey man! Glad you like it. Definitely a great amp. Funny thing is, I got my job right after I sold it to you!!! But, this opens the door for me to do more shopping. Just don't tell my girlfriend!

Re: New Tremoverb in the mail today..

If you wanted to, you can run the amp without the rectifier tubes... as long as you select the silicone rectifier mode. Won't hurt the amp at all.
