Had the urge to do some hard rock... A singer I gig with has some serious screamin pipes. I knew when I met her, I had to do some tracks with her . The tune is a straight rock track, I was shooting for mid 70s sounds on it. Dubs are minimal, it is about as bare bones as I have gone. Really fun to step into 'character' with this type of music.

My good friend Rikki Davenport plays drums and Felicia Mitchell adds the scream. I am useing my Stramp head, love how that thing sounds.,,,

I wish I could, same with your last thread, I really wish I could hear it, but neither of my browsers/javascript allow me to open up the song... Sorry man.

EDIT: Whoa, I managed to get it through your soundclick userspace thingamabob.

Good rockin tune. When you said screamin vocals I was thinkin like.. scream. But she just had powerful, diaphramy vocals, and put heart and soul into it. Cool

I was disappointed w/the sound quality at first, then I realized I'd clicked the low-fi link.

Good tune man! That 70's ****-rock swagger comes through clear as a bell, & she has got the voice for it! That bass breakdown sent me right to Foghatsville. :headbang:

Hey Thanks...

I honestly was completely inspired when I heard her voice. It is not the fake rock thing, she has legit, old school pipes. She takes chances as a singer and is rough aroound the edges in all the right kind of ways. She jumps right off the cliff, with no hesitation.

Many thanks!! Really trying to nail that era. The drums were the toughest for me to get right, I just kept making them drier and tighter. Really focused on getting that natural snare 'crack'.

I had the phase going, I love it on Lizzy's Bad Reputation and then there is this dude named Ed I kinda like.

Greatly appreciated!! That amp is VH II all the way. I decided to room mic it and use an alnico, so it didn't sound so much like 'that sound'. That Stramp is the real deal. Just a huge, fat, sound.

LOL, lofi.... ick!!

My dirty lil secret... The Bass is done with my POD 2.0. I drive the shiz out of it add a ton of compression a bit of flange. Really like how well it does that stuff. It ain't even the bass pod.

Rockin romp! Yes definitely 70s with lots of attitude. Great tone too. I think it sounds a little like Slade.. a bit of Nugent on that little break in the middle - always with your Halen influence in there too.. funky or not Very cool.

Hmmm, the Nuge. I had not made that connection til it was pointed out... I hear a lil Strangle in the middle... Those chords I used are rock staples.. I just slid em a bit different...lol
