new US made BC RICHs?

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

I love the color, but yeah, WAAAY Too much money! Id have trouble throwing down $2k for a Charvel or bolt on anything really.

Me too. If I were to spend 2.6k on a guitar I would buy something neck-thru or set-neck. And it would have to sound REALLY good.

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

I think you should clarify...

BUILT by Grover, not designed.

I laughed when I read "designed by Grover" because I pretty much imagined him going to the bank saying "morons, I just changed the fretboard wood, added a neck humbucker and let you use my name and you paid me big time!"

my bad. thanks.. I almost put that, but I figured someone would tell me it was just designed.. I didnt know he actually did the woodwork..

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

Ridiculously stupid. US$ 2600 for a 22 fret guitar that looks just like another 800 dollar Charvel.

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

I am having trouble seeing where this 2K+ price tag is justified.
Doesn't look like it will be a good seller to me...maybe I am wrong.

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

You guys are hilarious. When it comes to CS '54 or whatever reissue Strats or Teles, you drool and fap, and don't care about the price.

Ultimately if you pay for it, it's worth it to you.

Thank the gods you don't play a violin or cello - you can get a truly professional, lifer guitar for $2000, try that with a violin.

Re: new US made BC RICHs?

That guitar looks really good and by the looks of it, was built by the man himself. Respect to that. When you get a guitar built by one of the ultimate master-builders, you have to pay the premium tied with his time.

That said, I'm with Ascension on this, no matter how high-end it is, she's still a relatively simple build.
IMO that would only deserve the money if it was a custom built piece where I were to pick the wood combo, all of the hardware/pickups/electronics and of course, the neck dimensions/carve and fretboard radius/frets.

If not then yeah, that Suhr looks like a lot more of a guitar for the money, even if on paper it has very similar specs (except for the number of the frets).
On the other side, that Suhr is a Pro Series, the closest Suhr has to a production line. They're built side-by-side with the custom builds but to predetermined specs (with a certain degree of leeway) but still, I would expect they'd get the less successful builds/not as premium woods.
