New USA Charvel or Wayne Monster Series?

I was wondering, guys-are the New USA Charvels worth buying? I'm flirting with the idea of the standard model San Dimas w/Floyd or a Wayne Monster Series (also with Floyd). They'll be pretty close as far as price.

Although I´mm partial to the Charvels. But right now I´d grab an original San Dimas Charvel for the same cash

I think the Wayne stuff is very overpriced IMO but very nice (although I don't personally care for the headstock). But, my #1 choice would be a GMW strat built to the exact specs as the original Charvels Zerb is talking about. You can get a GMW in the $1250-1500 range and get it exactly how you want it. Or like Zerb said, track down an orginal San Dimas Charvel. Between the two in the poll I'd get a Charvel just because of the $$$.

Good point! I was considering an ESP M-1 Tiger also, but thought I already had way too many Lynchs...

I'd wait until you can play the new Charvels. We can assume the quality will be good, due to the price and the fact that they're essentially fenders, but who knows what the guitars are like until you get on in your mitts.

The Waynes come highly recommended. The small build numbers may mean that they keep some value, too, though 80s-style shred sticks will wane in popularity after the current 'kitsch/back in the day' bump in popularity evens out.

What you need is a stock fender telecaster.

I have an M-1; it's great, but plays just like your 'burst (same neck) I have 2 Waynes ... they are the Jaguar of rock guitars. Period.
