Just got what looks to be a Yamaha Pacifica 604 for a steal of a price today at ~$115 shipped. I've already got some pickups I can replace the stock ones with. I have two Duncan STK-S4n for the neck and middle, then a TB-5 for the bridge. Floating trem, Sperzel tuners, etc... as long as there's no big issues with the guitar when I get it this will be a steal.

Yeah that's a steal of a price for it as long as there's no big problems. It'll be delivered next week. They're really well made.

Both the other 604's I own have the wilkinson trem. This one has the Yamaha floating trem, but I hear is made pretty well. The other two are great guitars. Very solid and I would gig with them no problem.

Anyone think that the STK-S4 pickups will be too weak compared to the Custom? I thought about swapping out the ceramic mag for an A2 in it.

That probably depends on your preferences in terms of pickup balance. I have a Cool Rails and Custom Custom in my Charvel Model 4 mutt, and they balance pretty well in terms of output. The STK-S4s wouldn't have enough output for me, but I'm generally a H-H guy. One thing I can say for sure is that the CC is absolutely amazing in the bridge of a Strat.

Yeah the CC is a great pickup. Not sure what I want to do yet.

The S4s should be fine with the Custom. They might be a little weaker, but they are remarkable pickups that give a good contrast with the Custom- I have used that combo before with good results.
