I am working on a new section for the big prog piece I'm writing and I needed to add some jangle, but didn't want acoustic guitar. Some scratching around on the Interwebs produced the Samplebase harpsichord VST.

It's a very comprehensive and realistic harpsichord VST; in fact, it's probably too realistic for my mediocre keyboarding skills, as I cannot figure out how to dampen the hammers from clanging when I hold sustained notes! :)

Still, it did the trick, even if I am only using it for adding colour to about 60 seconds of music.

As the demo is quite long (over 10 minutes), it's going to take some work before it's ready for outside ears. :)

Okay, this is probably against my better judgement, but here's what I have thus far.

Please note -- there is no bass guitar yet and THIS IS NOT MIXED. And feel free to stop listening after 5 minutes, because the back half is not finished yet. :) (For the very adventurous, it falls apart at about 9m 30s in).

The VST instrument sound will almost certainly consist of layered samples. If the editing interface allows access to the sample layers, it ought to be possible to switch the hammer samples off.

Didn't think of that, thanks. I actually just incorporated into the piece, as if I had a real one and had to work around it.
