Thx. Yep the ax did come out great for what I was hoping for. Combing coils is great! There's a richness and 3Dness from the 2 pickup personalities. The Custom and Distortion came out great together. It's the best bridge pickup I've tried so far. The Distortion has a lot more organic tone character than its ceramic magnet gives it credit for. It's a nice pickup. I'm also positive that the DD isn't the same coils as the JB after trying the DD/Custom and a JB/Custom. The JB/Custom is grungier while the DD/Custom blends seamlessly. About the Warmoth necks, the work they do they do well but no they don't level them and they only bevel the ends like most companies. So if you want the neck to play right you still have to do a level.
