New WLH User

Re: New WLH User

I was on the fence with the WLH set as I didn't really like any of the demos I watched.

You didn't "like" this? I didn't use enough gain? No sweep picking? No tapping? Not enough cowbell? What did you not like about it?

I prefer the raw tracks version you posted awhile back :)

Re: New WLH User

Agree that video is outstanding, it couldn't be more accurate in showcasing the basic tone of this set, add a bunch of gain and it gets hard to tell one PAF type from another, at least to my ears. It's refreshing NOT to hear black dog stumbled through on a solid state Line6 in someone's basement.

No offense regarding your demo, your skill is superb and kudos for the absolutely professional presentation. Believe it or not, I'm not a huge Page fan, I like Zeppelin, but more of the standpoint of a listener, not as something I look to play as a musician. I think it was just a style preference, that's all. And no, I'm no fan of tapping or sweep picking. Again, the last thing I want to do is offend anyone, so if I did I sincerely apologize.

Re: New WLH User

Hmm, I wonder how a WLH neck/ BW bridge combo would sound? Or even WLH neck with a JB bridge? Now you've got me thinking....

I have tried it with a JB. It is the ultimate 70s/80s setup, really. I am not a huge JB fan, but they did work well together. My guess is that not many have tried the WLH and BW. Different audiences, I guess.

Re: New WLH User

I wish that they had a little more chewy midrange..I'm tempted to try some roughcast a2 mags in them.

That said they have quickly become my fave Duncan lower output pickups.

Gotta have that "chewy midrange". I want to taste the caramel and feel it squish between my teeth. :)
