Thanks guys! I can't stop playing it, the only guitar I've picked up since getting this has been a Godin Core P90 that I'm reviewing, but otherwise, the Wolfie is just glued to my hands!!!

I've had this for maybe a month or two now, but with all the rush in packing up and relocating (I've just moved halfway up the country to the biggest city in NZ, Auckland, though that's not saying much by world standards), I never got around to getting some good photos of it.

Wolfgang #2! I wanted a more flashy looking one, and I also wanted to hear what a maple topped one sounded like (the black ones are 100% basswood body, while the trans finishes have a LP style maple cap). Got this in from the States at a decent price. It has what looks like a factory repair on the back of the neck (you can see it if you squint, it's a narrow strip of wood that was plugged in), which ends up meaning that the neck is a little thinner and a little faster than a normal Wolfgang, which is cool if the small, clubby neck isn't your thing.

Anyway, enough words... now for some pics:

I went around scouting for new locations to take guitar photos as unfortunately my new digs in Auckland are not really conducive to good pics, so I went to a local park to try out some ideas! Check them out and tell me which one you like best...

Those Wolfies are one of the few unique guitars out there, imo. It's hard to design guitar body that hasnt been done a million times or look odd/goofy. They really hit home run on that shape. I saw a few at a GUitar Center awhile back and ws really struck with what a great looking guitar that is.

The neck on those Peaveys is great!! I have a friend who is an avid VH fan and has some Peavey Wolfgangs, the neck fits my hand like a glove.

Ooh, one of the new EVH-branded ones? A friend has one, great guitar. Got a pic to share?

It's a pity though - I heard that end of last year production of the EVH Wolfgangs was shifting from Japan to the Fender China factory. Coupled with the fact that all the USA models were discontinued, it looks like the line is going nowhere fast

Really? hadnt heard that!! They are kinda pricey, so I figure the market may be alil thin for the high end ones. I prefer the Peaveys anyhow. Yours is sweet! Love that birdseye and black! I had a bud that scored one of the specials when a local shop folded and his is killer. Flat top IIRC but the pups sound great and plays like butta..

So, how much (if any) different is the tone on the maple capped one?
