Newly recruited Jacksonite..

Re: Newly recruited Jacksonite..

Jacksons kick the **** out of me, for sure!

AFAI Understand, Dinky's have a slightly smaller body, are boltons, have a different volume knob position, and different setups electronics wise. Also, the mid-90's ones had 22 frets and an HSS setup, which I prefer to the 24 fret EMG HH setup.

Ya the 2 i have have a smaller Basswood body... My red sunburst has a paper thin maple top..... The blue one is solid Basswood.. They have 24 fret necks and 2 Jackson humbuckers..... The necks shapes are paper thin..... I prefer the thicker Soloist neck shapes myself.... I also enjoy the HSS and 22 fret neck set ups on a lot of Jacksons...

Dinky = Bolt On, Soloist = Neckthru (Leading to dinky oiled, soloist painted)

The body size discussion is under constant debate, and both sides can provide enough consistent variations to prove they´re right (IE Smaller dinkys and "Soloist size" Dinkys)... many say it´s because of 22 ves 24 frets on the older ones, but again, enough proof of both sides, it will probably never really be answered :D:D

But a strat is definitely larger than either, the first dinky was a 7/8 scale strat, and a soloist is also smaller ;)
