It was highly suggested I start wearing makeup - but I opted for a mask instead.

Now I got this uber cool Indian sidekick named Tonto and ride a Horse named silver. I carry a gun loaded with Silver bullets.

It's true that SS/hybrid Marshalls don't get enough credit. Valvestate's are bargains used, and their mid gain Marshall tones are often better than what modeling amps give you.

I like your idea of the POD shaping the tone in the loop. Try the POD right into the FX return also. Try all your effect pedals there too.

That's what I'm doing: guitar >> POD >> effects loop return on the Valvestate

The front end of the Valvestate is completely bypassed. I know there's a way of incorporating the pre-amp section as well, but so far, I've not taken the time to mess with it, mainly because it's in the UK and I'm not there so much.

I took my Catlinbread Super Charged Overdrive out for a spin with those two yesterday.



oooooh yeah!

I don't know how they wired this thing - but they did it right. It just does all the tube and goodness I want it to. That Catalinbread SCOD turns the clean channel into all kinds of things, right up into the OD1 zone. It makes OD1 ferocious. It makes OD2 plain EVIL.

I don't think I have my tone. I don't think I ever will. If I do, it will be along the lines of a Ceramic bridge pup into maybe a 5150 or JCM-900 or such.

That said - I really love the sounds I get from this. I now run Digital models/SS, Hybrid, and All Tube amps. Like them all at different times. But I think I like this one best.

I'm looking to change my A2P neck for something hotter.

My hot neck pup of choice would be a Distortion Neck. Although I'm a bit of a JB neck fan as well. But neither of those would = a hotter A2P. MAybe pout a Custom Custom in there.

I generally run PG/PAFs in the neck with whatever in the bridge.

That amp could care less. It will spit out whatever goes in as hot if you want it to.

Didn't realize the Power Dimension thingy dropped the power that much.
I knew it was "some",but wasn't sure of the specs.

Don't forget to dick with the FX level & mix knob/switch,too!

Nice grab,I think I paid about that for mine,but it's nowhere near as clean.
May end up running a Rocktron Chameleon into it for a back-up system,as well...

It's hard to get a good clean on the 25watt mode . Might be an amp issue, or it might be me pimp slapping the tube with Distortion, SuperDistortion, and JB8's....

Don't know don't care - not what I got this for and it's actually very nice cleans on 100 mode! Not amazing, but good (and then the crunch - oh yeah!)

Yeah,I tried to gig it w/the PwrDim on,really took away from it.

More usable/practical for lower vols,really fattens well.
