NGD: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe !

NEW GEAR DAY! A 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, in natural finish. Absolutely gorgeous, and has the LOWEST ACTION I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE... and NO BUZZ AT ALL ! It's all original (except one pot) , and a super sweet player. I thought the Mini-Humbuckers would be alittle weak for my harder rock style playing(they are like around 7KOhms or so), but they actually kick some serious arse, and they are only alittle weaker than my Dimebucker in my other paul, go figure. It has a volute, and a 3 Piece maple top, 1 piece mahogany body, and 3 piece MAPLE NECK! It's so bright and chimey, the maple neck is to die for, sooo smooth and bright. I really hit a home run with this norlin (which is my first norlin in fact!)

PS- This is what I got with the Gibson Firebird VII I sent back due to the serious problems it had. I'm happy that happened now.

Nice Norlin! I've never understood the hatred for them and I own several! I have a 76' Deluxe and the neck pickup has the sweetest tone I've ever heard! Congrats!

As one who loves DeLuxes, I have to say ...THATS ONE OF THE NICEST LOOKIN ONES I"ve SEEN.....Natural+Maple Neck = HOT!!!!

Congrats! I had a 79 as well- unfortunately mine was a dog

If you need a little more horsepower- the current Gibson minis (which I believe are ceramic) are ballsier than those old minis-the new ones are more like a full size PAF but with that mini "bite"

Congratulations! That's a nice looking Deluxe. I have a '78 Deluxe and it's the only Gibson guitar I've kept.

SoundAt11- Thanks, and yes the studio kicks ass too. This is the reason I decided to go with the Deluxe (because my studio has the high output full humbuckers, and I wanted a different, but good sound) It's a sweet player aswell !

That's a great looking guitar! I bet the maple neck adds a nice snap with those minis. It's a shame minis aren't more popular because I think they're better than most full size humbuckers.

The maple neck adds ALOT of snap, and lots of overall characteristics to the sound. The mini's are really nice indeed !
