It got here a day earlier than estimated...I was happy about that. This one has been played...kinda like the first one I had, honest play wear, no abuse.
This is #38 from the second run of Gary Moores...the ALMSB run. Its a 1991. Its all stock....EMG 81s, Schaller tailpiece, Schaller roller bridge, nickel Grovers. Both pickup rings were broke so I replaced them. It features a one piece mahogany body, rosewood board with traps, and a beautiful bookmatched maple top. It weighs in at 9.75 lbs.
Lot of dings and dimples. Pick wear and moderate worming. From 4 feet away it looks perfect...but from the right angle they show up.
The neck is a 60s slim, one piece mahogany. The frets have normal wear on the E, B and G...first 3 frets mainly.
I have only had about 10 minutes to plug it into the Badcat....and it sounded incredible. Very punchy tone, like you would expect from an EMG...tone report will hopefully happen tomorrow.
I was a little disappointed in the amount of beauty marks, but for what I paid, I guess i'm not gonna ***** too much...it plays great and has a great feel...that's what counts.
