NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Andrew Lamprecht

Minion of One
I wasn't even thinking about another guitar but I joined a death metal band as a rhythm guitarist and I picked this up from Dominus a couple days ago... lol. 7 string with EMGs.

I don't like the EMGs much for anything besides high gain. They sound compressed and flat clean and as you turn up the gain it gets a little better but still nothing to rave about. This guitar is only going to be used for that band though so it's ok.

Here is Dominus' picture.

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

haha that's a big change.

Cool man, what's the band called? what kinda death metal?

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

WHOA! Hottness!

Let me know if you're ever gettin' rid of it. I've been after a cool 7 for a lil bit now.

Congrats on the geetar and new band dude!

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

the band... lol... I'll not post the name because they only have clips for 3 or 4 years ago when they were teenagers... and it's pretty bad. The newer stuff is good. It sounds like trepalium.

but they are willing to work with "my" death metal style and integrate it into the band.

I like this style more. Thrashy.

I'll let you know man. I got it really cheap. It's a lot better quality than I thought it was going to be. It's a "diamond series" and the other guy in the band has one. He said they are really good but I don't know anything about Schecters.

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

I have a similar shaped fr revenger im doing as a project soon. I actually just routed out the fr cavity to hold a ofr today. There a good guitar just a bit bulky imo

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Cool stuff. Congrats!

Also schecters are pretty decent for the money. Definitely workhorses.

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Surely, you meant looking Relic-ed. :D

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

I love the body shape. I hate the headstock.

Let us know more about your death metal band.

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Never thought I'd see the day when you ordered a 7 string.

What are you going to play through? Are you gonna use pedals through your mesa or are you gonna get a new amp?

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

I have been trying a couple pedals... a metal muff clone and a doctor boogie pedal. They seem to work really well through the Mesa so I'll probably just use one of those.

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Wow, a bit of a shocker but change can be a good thing my friend. Not my thing but I'm sure it's going to be put to good use in your new band, congrats on both!

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

Awesome score man! I bought my Schecter (Diamond Series C-1 Classic) sight unseen and it is still hard to beat 7 years later. Totally playable to the point of addiction for me, and sounds great with any pickups that go in it. I'm sure yours will be the same.

You will enjoy the hell out of that for metal of any sort!

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

cool score!! Ive always LOVED the avenger model! Love pointies!! Yeah, post some clips of the new band!

Re: NGD: A very unexpected one for me...

18 volt mod that thing! It just takes a second 9 volt battery to greatly reduce the compression and get some headroom on those EMGs!
