NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Nothing beats an unexpected free guitar day! Congrats Dank! That rawks!

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

First of all, congrats on the axe, although it might be prudent to try to protect those signatures if you're planning on playing it.

Secondly, cr@p, I did NOT know Lemmy had passed! What's more, only yesterday I read that David Bowie passed away as well, turning these holidays into the cr@ppiest in 20 or so years.

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news keeper.

About protection - wonder what my options are:
- some type of clear coat? (I'd guess that would need to be applied professionally)
- not playing it (that sounds pretty boring!)
- putting some type of thin clear plastic (like a phone screen protector) over the arm area and where I rest my picking hand fingers
- just play the dumb thing and see what happens (I could take a lot of photos of it and have the memories); also, I won't rub them all off, some I'd never touch

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

you could get the guitar coated with clear epoxy for maximium durability.

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Nice, an LTD M-10 was my first guitar. Mine has a matte finish though, I guess they're going gloss these days (mine is an '01 I believe). Still a great guitar, I should've just stuck with that one for far longer than I did.

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Go to a show a win a guitar? SWEET!!!! Enjoy that new guitar!!! :headbang:

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

Free gear......nothing better than that! Did you see those bands at the Regent Theater? I've never been to that venue.

But you should have been at the Rainbow. I actually won Lemmy!!! :chairfall

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

You better be glad Gearjoneser wasn't there. That f'n bastard wins something wherever he goes.....damn, s.o.b....lol

Re: NGD: an unexpected thrashtastic prize

I was going to say some of his luck must have rubbed off on me!

Yeah it was the regent - I thought it was a cool place; not really a bad seat in the house. Friendly staff, usable bathrooms. Parking about a block away for 9 bucks.
