NGD and PDNGD

New guitar day and past due new guitar day!

Today big brown arrived and brought my Takamine GJ72CE 12 string! Looking it the box, I was alittle concerned...But all was well. Pulled her out, tuned it up, (everything was down a half step). Plays and sounds very nice. The neck was as I expected, but was hoping it would be thinner. Ill get used to it. Pretty nice that I can feel the top vibrating, So I know it will improve with time.

sorry the pix are poor. but here:

Got this one a few months ago. wasnt gonna NGD it, but Rand-o called me out...

EPI LP 1960 Tribute Plus.

Got it real cheap and quite FANTASTIC guit.. Has Locking Grover keys, 60's neck, Gibson 57 Classic Humbuckers, push pull pots for coil tapping, orange drop caps, bound neck. Sounds amazing and plays great. Got it along with the hardshell case for under $5 bills. The wire on the tailpiece that holds the saddles somehow got bent, (I fixed it, but I replaced with good quality one.) Brand of which eludes me right now. Wanted blue or black (preferably blue), the good price was on a black one.. Also, this model is supposed to come with epi straplocks. The dealer couldnt find them, but no biggie, Id have used Dunlops anyhow..

Again, poor phone pics..

The case:

I was originally prepared to be ripping out the pups and putting my Suhr Aldrich in the bridge and something else in the neck, but this thing sounds great and plays wonderfully. Im loving it. I do have to turn the treble down a small bit on the bridge pup. I still may change it, but Ill prolly leave the neck pup.
There you go Randy.... j/k bro

Re: NGD and PDNGD

Very nice on both counts! I love the top on the LP, if it had a transparent back I'd be doing an internet search. Congrats.

Re: NGD and PDNGD

I played a 12 string for the first time the other day and I for the life of my could not play it. Felt so strange

haha yeah i hate when that happens. I was at a local guys place, He sells guitar woods and is pretty much a jack of all things stringed. He handed me this dinosaur of a hollow body and i couldn't play the thing. It felt like a 6 string bass but as big as a double bass. Anyway it was meant to be something really special but to me it felt like a big pile of crap.

Re: NGD and PDNGD

Another feature I like about the LP is that it is supposed to have a deeper set neck tenon then regular ones do.

Re: NGD and PDNGD

LOL!! You're welcome bro! And thank you! Thanks to all! The Tak sounds nice plugged up too! matter of fact, gonna go plug into my bass ampeg and annoy my neighbors right now

Re: NGD and PDNGD

Very nice! I can't remember which Tak 12 string I played, but it looked similar to that one–I thought it had a very nice tone. Really like the top on that Les Paul! Double congrats! :headbang::headbang:

Re: NGD and PDNGD

Nice looking additions. Enjoy. BTW, Happy Happys to ya today! :headbang:

Re: NGD and PDNGD

Wow, I really like the looks of the Tak but I LOVE the top of that Epi, haven't seen the blue but that black is phenomenal!!!

Double congrats bro, enjoy both in good health and Happy New Guitar Day :headbang:
