2011 MIH Buddy Blaze Shredder w/ lightning storm graphic. the last guitar made at the Hawaii shop.
this was made for someone that has several Blaze models and this one was hardly played. the original request was for the 'fubar' dot inlays - yeah, I know.
the dots didn't do it for me and I made that clear when I first saw photos. the original owner was trading it in on credit for a new build. I went to check it out, and that was also back when they were putting an inlay (or whatever) on the back of the head with the owners name (i.e., 'handmade in Hawaii for "insert name"). so who wants a guitar with someone else's name? it's like looking down and seeing a tramp stamp with "Lucid Lunatic".
the NightSwan ping pong dots were off the table, as were just regular dots - which are reserved for the 25th anniversary model. those new style ping pong didn't do it for me, so I went with no inlays at all.
that's a 25th anniversary neck, which is identical to the one on Vivian Campbell's original blue polka dot Shredder (Whitesnake's Here I Go Again video). the original was actually a Warmoth neck, as was the original Shredder body, both shaped and modded a bit. when Kramer started the NightSwan line, he wanted to go with Warmoth for the parts but ESP (who was already making the bodies and necks for Kramer) could make the parts for less.
it came with DMT Blazebucker pickups, which are fine (and now currently for sale). since this is essentially the Shredder that the NightSwan was based on, I wanted the same pickups. I already had a selection of TB4J models (yes, the spacing does fit). I do have a TB10J already in my NightSwan but didn't want to pull it or go with a production model, so MJ made me a CS Full Shred w/ no logo and a little extra secret sauce.
she dated it, because the first one she made got lost between the CS and the shipping dock, so she had to make another one.
mahogany body. maple neck. ebony board. 24 frets. short Gibson scale. swithcraft innards. gotoh tuners. oem FR. and my additions/mods are: 42mm 1/2" titanium block from guitarupgrades <-link! Schaller locking strap pins. p/p to put JB in parallel.
