NGD, but what am I gonna name it.

Re: NGD, but what am I gonna name it.

Technically, this is a belated NGD, as I actually bought this yestersay. Used.

Very nice guitar. The only flaws are the lack of a string retainer, a three way switch instead of a five way, one missing sidedot, dirty frets, a very small and shallow paint chip, and a rather uninspiring trem. Nothing money can't fix.

More pics are coming later.

Now other than the mods that I'll perform, I only have to name it... And I can't think of a good name.

How about "the Red Guitar?"
Have you considered putting the pups in Triple Shots? That would negate the need for a 5 way.
Otherwise, nice axe, enjoy!

Thanks, and I have, but opted for the cheaper push/pull pot.

Archer250-
1. Glad to see your cat up for a change.
2. I would name your guitar after a very old song by Leslie West: LONG RED.
3. I may have missed someone else mention that. If so, then I 2nd it.

Nopee. I don't see may Jacksons with string retainers either.

Then odds are for the case of not needing one. Are the tuning keys (aka machine heads) stock? If yes, then chances are that you'll be ok with some careful winding on the tuning key posts, without the string retainer.

I'm quite okay with this at the moment. But since I might switch out the trem much later (along with new trem posts) I might as well go the entire way then.

Re: NGD, but what am I gonna name it.

in all seriousness I absolutely adore those Jackson blonde necks and headstocks. some very beautiful guitars.

I actually like natural fretboards, but I think those cheap looking black fret markers are atrociously ugly. No matter how good (quality) they are, or how playable they are, or how cheap I could get one, I could never bring myself to buy one because of that. (OK, maybe if I could get one for $5.00 or less it might make it worth my time to remove them and do something else).

If I purposely wanted to design the ugliest neck possible it would be this...or with those fret markers painted a color like red or orange.
