NGD - Charvel Pro Mod

Sooooooooooo, it's been a awhile since my last guitar purchase, and recently had a bit of an upheaval and sold my 60s Classic Player Strat. A great guitar, but never quite bonded with it. Will miss that woody neck SRV sound though.

So, after hearing from multiple sources that there weren't anymore Charvel Pro Mods in white coming into the UK (maybe forever, maybe a while) I'm pleased to introduce my as un-named yet San Dimas Pro Mod. JB/59 equipped, (Korean) OFR, oiled neck, sexy as f*&k.

Only 2 days in - 1st impressions is the JB really does scream all the time (never had one before), '59 is a tiny bit woolly for my taste admittedly but could be my amp, OFR seems solid though fine tuning is still a bit out of whack, and the neck is an absolute monster. I first thought it was a bit wide for me but it really gives you a lot of room to move. Love the oil finish as well.

Definitely on-par with my US Wolfgang. Now eyeing up a brass block and the inevitable 'I wonder what a CC/PGn combo would sound like?'

:scratchch :)

Awesome!! I love mine! JB/jazz If the 59 is too wooly, try an alnico 4 mag before you give up on it. It keeps the vibe of the pup but shaves alil off the lows.
Those necks are divine.. I have guitars much more pricey and such, but Im constantly gravitating to the charvel.. With a big block on the trem, mine sustains like my set necks.. Brootal

Re: NGD - Charvel Pro Mod

I had the same one. I bought my 7 string same time so I got used to the 7 string neck and never bonded with the Charvel properly... Still miss it though, it was a very good axe.

Happy NGD!!! :14:

i've heard this before. that the neck on these is especially nice. what about it makes it so?

also, could you get one of these with 2 volumes and a tone control?

Thats awesome! Very Adrian Smith (well, not really, thats just who I think when I see a white Jackson/Charvel superstrat like that). :beerchug:

Rounded edges, smooth back, amazing frets, and the size is just right.

Dont think they make any with 2 vols, but you could add one. Esp if you get the one with the pickguard.

The necks have an amazing broken in feel to them. They're quite flat, but not as full on as a Wizard neck. Its oil finished too so very smooth and slippery, but prone to picking up dirt and natural oil.

The fingerboard edges are rolled on too, even moreso than US strats. At some angles its almost scalloped looking.

Not sure if there's different configurations - maybe the Wildcards are different?

Re: NGD - Charvel Pro Mod

very nice... been wanting one like that, or in the Blue finnish... i have a white one from the usa series with a black guard and dmarzios... love the neck.. love floyds... big part of me loves mine as is, but i think i'd like the JB set up models better

Re: NGD - Charvel Pro Mod

Pro Mods are awesome guitars for the money. I have a USA made Tele looking one in white that I got for like $700 a couple of years ago when they were clearing them out. I put Blackouts, a D-Tuna, Big Brass Block and Tremol-no in it and the thing is a MONSTER player. (not that you have to do all that but well..I did!) The necks are definitely awesome. I wish mine had the rolled feel a bit more, but it's not a big deal.

ya the teles got knocked down in price big time... love the slab feel of the tele style models... missed my chance to buy a purple one used for cheap...
