Hey friends, been a while. Just wanted to share a sweet guitar. It took just over a year. TK Smith Tele.
100% hand made save the chopped b-16. The pick-guard is..inlaid. Bakelite pickguard, cut out with a band saw and inlaid with white hand cut letters. CAR Bigbsy pickups. 25.5" scale neck.
I have really been enjoying it. It get's full-time use in my band.

Looks and sounds really cool... like a custom guitar from the 50's that no company has made since then.

The only thing you're missing is a big gaudy bolo tie. I'm sure Rodney Sr. has one you can borrow!

It's actually a Bigsby style guitar headstock,

...which, who knows, could have been somewhat inspired by the oldest Martin/Stouffer/etc. guitars.

Yes, sir...though Grady is the big influence for me. Paul Bigsby only made a few guitars...ever. Very few, but they are really easy to spot on record.

That headstock is the best part, its fantastic. CBS from hell.

Bigsby. It is easy to see where Fender took, stole and borrowed the design from. Including the kluson 6 in line tuners and 3-way switch. Paul was such a genius and a path finder but Leo got alot more credit.

Dig the toppy, warm, lo-fi sound. Bet it sounds righteous with some drive, Setzer style :cool2:.

Great playing too - tired of hearing the umpteenth blooze or shred lick when people demo gear.
