Yeah, no prob. The neck width at the nut is 1-9/16". It's a bit smaller than 1-5/8" and even more than 1-11/16". Luckily the neck isn't thin, so it balances out nicely. It's an adjustment at times, but I forget about it in about 2-3 mins.
Eventually, I might. The high E hangs close to the edge of the fretboard. It plays well as a 6 string despite the smaller width. I didn't play it long enough with the 12 strings since I disliked the setup it came with.
Bit of an update: the bridge bushings had to be enlarged, so I took the guitar to my tech. I trust him more with jobs that require touch and experience lol. The ground wire was sheered off whenever the import bushings were installed. He had to add one. I asked him to remove the covers to see if I had T Tops.
Here's what we uncovered:
No t top! This '66 335 has Patent Number pickups. Black bobbins. Black wires out of the bobbins and red/copper wire. These might be early patent # p'ups which makes them closer to late PAFs. Lucked out with this one \m/
*I can probably get about 75% of my money back if I sell the pickups. These might fetch $600-700 due to chrome covers and copper wire. The wiring harness about $400. Selling vintage parts is tricky though.
