NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Well, that ones a little closer.

Regardless of how black it isnt, I still like it. Well, the color anyway.

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Regardless of any issues on the color....

SWEET@$$ SG!!!!!!

How does she feel? How Does she sound? I know...not as important as color/top pieces, but tell me about those minor details please.

This is a great SG, sound is hot, very well made . This is my first guitar with GForce tuners . Very easy and fast to adjust.

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Fantastic SG!

(Hilarious - this guy, who actually owns the guitar in question, states it's "trans black" - everybody tells him "no it's not") :yeah:

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

There's only one thing wrong.......

It's backwards. :naughty:

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

It is a stunning instrument. Do you like how it plays & sounds now?

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

I bought this Graphtec adjustable nut for my SG, better than the stock one and it gives a standard look, I prefer.

Finally, what we've all spent our entire adult lives looking for - permanently lubricated nuts.

And nice guitar. I have no issues with the color. I have a "dark honeyburst" / "light tobacco burst" SG which looks just like any other plain walnut brown SG. The burst part is brown and all it did was obscure the grain around the edges.

I've known about those replacement nuts and it's probably the first thing I would do on a 2015 !

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Whatever you want to call the color doesn't matter to me: I absolutely love it (that shade of brown is amazing). Congrats!

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Cheap and cool upgrades, vintage NOS Switchcraft nut and amber Historic switch tip

Re: NGD - Gibson SG Trans Black

Great SG! Like the upgrades and the finish.

If they called it Black Walnut, it would make more sense. Especially since they offer/have offered many guitars in the past that were transparent black, that other people showed exampes of.

Then again, Gibson rarely makes much sense.

More I play this SG more I love her ...

SG's are great. They're so much easier on your back than a LP, it's ridiculous. Mine came with '57's. I had an Emerson Customs wiring harness put in so I could replace the pickups, but now I sort of wish I'd left the 57's in; I'm getting a tube amp and I want to hear how it sounds stock.
