NGD...Heritage quilt!

I took a chance on a 1998 H 150 DLX on ebay and it paid off! It came via UPS today. It is in near mint condition (except for a cracked neck pup ring...lol) When i opened the case i was blown away by this rolling, swirling, lofty quilt maple top. And was equally pleased to see a 1 piece back. I bought it from the original owner, he must not have played it much...no buckle rash, no fret wear, no dents...just light pick marks and polish swirls....i was lucky to find an honest seller.

I put a fresh set of 10s on it and fired it up. It does have 59ers in it, and typicaly i'm not fond of them, but they are a good match for this beefy, tight mahogany grained, mass of tone! I think i might leave them.

The rosewood has some nice straking to it, and the neck is a nice med. C. The OHSC and standerd paperwork was included.

I really need to stop opening your threads. :banghead:

Though to be honest, that thing has a way more extravagant top than I would personally choose. Still, it looks like a one of a kind classy instrument. Congrats.

That P-90 beast is definitely my favourite.

Lovely maple cap. Hateful pickguard. I'd prefer cream pickup mounting rings and switch cap.

B-Rocks: Super guitar!! I understand you're the Heritage SME on the site, what do you think of their hollow bodies? That turely is a beautiful instrument!

Beautiful... I'm usually not too fond of that burst scheme but it looks amazing with the quilt... enjoy!

Beautiful guitar! I've seen some gorgeous Heritage guitars and that's one of 'em for sure.

Beautiful guitar! I've seen some gorgeous Heritage guitars and that's one of 'em for sure.

I used to take the bus from Detroit up to Kalamazzoo and visit the Gibson factory at 225 Parsons when I was kid in the 1960's. Now it's Heritage but they still have "Gibson" written vertcally on the old brick smokestack - just the way I remember it.

Until I grew my hair long they were very friendly and would let me in back and show me around. When I grew my hair long that seemed to change though. Gibson was a fairly conservative company in those days. I don't think they liked rock n roll or had much respect for long haired musicians in the 60's...if they had, they would have talked to us about what we wanted to see reissued and would have reissued the right Les Paul (the '58 or '59) with humbuckers instead of the '56 Gold Top with P-90's when they brought back the Les Paul around 1969. But they didn't even know who Mike Bloomfield or Eric Clapton was at the time I guess.

But I digress. Back to the subject at hand: Beautiful guitar!

I do think Heritage should design a little more graceful looking head stock someday - just personal taste I guess.

thats a great story dude!!! thanks for the compliment!

 WHOA!!! I say No Pickguard but what do I know right? Beauty!!!

Re: NGD...Heritage quilt!

Wow man, that thing was beautiful in stock form, but the creme pickguard/rings/etc. really knocks it out of the park!

Congratulations man, that guitar is simply beautiful!

Re: NGD...Heritage quilt!

Gaaaahhh... It's you again. The person who makes me green with envy lol

No seriously - that's a sick looking guitar. And I'm sure it plays awesome too.
Congrats.
