NGD - I swear it was an accident

I had no intention of getting another guitar in fact I sold one but the money was an issue so....well my buddy wanted to get a Strat as well as a Jr. so I made sure it could happen lol

Killer neck on this guitar, unfortunately it had a headstock break at one point. Solid repair but no beauty points. Mixed bag of parts on it but I like it a lot, might even keep it.

'07 SG Standard

nice! something about a red sg always screams rock and roll to me

Re: NGD - I swear it was an accident

It's got a fat 50's style neck and it sustains like crazy and yes very Rock n Roll

"Just one drink...that's it and I'm going home. I don't have a problem. I can control this!!!"

I keep an eye out for gibsons with headstock breaks, you get them for a cheaper price & don't have to pay to get the inevitable break repaired.
Double savings

Congratulations. Good purchase. Of all the colors, the SG looks best in red.

Re: NGD - I swear it was an accident

Nice, how can you miss with an SG. (fortunate that Les Paul was going through a divorce or who knows what Gibson would have called them)

Re: NGD - I swear it was an accident

Some of the biggest production Gibson necks I have messed with have been on those early to mid Y2K standards and faded SGs. I goofed up and passed on a killer 2005 black standard sg back in '05 with a big fat neck from nut to pickguard. Still think about that guitar. Sounded huge and played so well..really snappy.

Re: NGD - I swear it was an accident

That's a pretty sweet accident. Fat 50's neck all the better. The SG Classic I used to own had a fat neck on it too, played so great.

Sweet grab man!!! I came very close to trading my Midtown for a 99 S.G. that looked very similar the other day but I just couldn't stand to lose the Midtown. It sucks about the headstock but as long as it's got a solid repair job!!! I've been tempted to buy "Pro Repaired" Gibby's with headstock breaks in the past but without being able to physically play them before I pay I've always steered clear. Broken set-necks scare the hell out of me!!!

I've played a few repaired Gibby's that were done correctly & seemed just as solid as the day they were made! I've even seen a few that unless someone told you that it had been repaired you'd never know!!! Unfortunately for the most part they have been problematic in one way or the another. I had a Gretsch with a headstock break that I had "professionally repaired" (A idiot who had some epoxy & clamps) when I was like 16, it was alright unless the ambient room temperature was above 80* fahrenheit, after that it was like the glue would start to melt or warp & I couldn't get it to stay in tune even for one song...

LOL, I played that guitar for one of my very first gigs in high school. This particular gig was a outdoor event, we opened for another local band during our annual 4th of July carnival & the stage was just a wooden platform that sat 3-4 feet off the ground, no awning or anything? Once the sunlight hit the guitar it was like someone was turning down my tuning keys while I was playing!!!

After the first song one of our local police officers who was working the fair that day let me borrow his beautiful Martin M38 with a Duncan Woody sound hole pickup in it for the rest of the show. Luckily he had it in his cruiser & was dumb enough to let a 16 year old me use it for a couple 30 minute sets!!!

Re: NGD - I swear it was an accident

It's funny I got the SG from my buddy who years ago bought my '66 Jr that had a headstock break/repair
